S.R.C. Student Representative Council

A class rep. also becomes a member of the Students' Association's Student Representative Council.

PLEASE NOTE - The SRC is one of the most important decision making forums within the S.A. This is where your suggestions and ideas, complaints and problems can all be raised. It provides a forum for communication between the students of the S.A. (you) and the Executive.

Even More Important - The SRC holds the President and the Executive Committee of U.A.D.S.A. accountable for their work.

What Does The SRC Do?

The SRC is a body which holds the Executive Committee accountable with regards to the day to day running of the union. the SRC can make management decisions with respect to both the weekly running of the S.A. and its long-term strategic development.

The SRC supports the executive on their work, it can censure an individual executive member or it can vote no confidence in an executive member.

When and Where Do SRC's Happen?

SRC's will roughly happen once a month and take place in a designated room at the main Kydd Building. They usually start at around 5.15pm

• Monday 4th December 5.15pm
• Monday 8th January 5.15pm
• Monday 5th February 5.15pm
• Monday 5th March 5.15pm
• Monday 9th April 5.15pm
• Monday 7th May 5.15pm

How Can You Get Involved?

• Ask your classmates what they would like to see in Abertay Union
• Once you have some suggestions or opinions you can either voice an opinion during a discussion on an agenda item or you can pop into the S.A. office to specifically request for an item to be put on the agenda

I Have An Idea………..How can I put it forward?

If there is a big change or idea that you would like to be put in place then you can write a motion to be tabled at the next SRC meeting.

All you have to do is take the motion into the S.A. office a few days before the meeting and give a short introduction to the meeting, outlining the details of your suggestions.

What Happens If I Can't Attend?

It is very important that you do attend but if you can't then e-mail your apologies to the Honorary Secretary.
