Thousands of students and staff throughout
the years have been aware of the University’s official crest, but
few will be able to explain the significance of the various elements
in the design, thinking that their origins were lost in the midst’s
of time...
It was not until the 1950’s that the University sought the Amorial
Bearings. It did so not on the initiative of the governors or staff
of the University but on that of the students who wanted a “badge”
which could be worn on their blazer and give them parity with students
from other institutions of higher education. Move your mouse over
the crest to get a detailed discription of each part.
