Sun 4th November:
Wolfstone, Advance tickets £10, doors 8.00p.m.
Scottish folk - rock band Wolfstone play the perfecr mix of energised
traditional music underlaid by grungy driving bass, electric guitar
and
drums. Their albums "The Chase", "Year of the Dog"
and "Half Tail" have all won
the band critical acclaim from many quarters and as part of their
forthcoming European tour a new live album is expected to be released
soon.
(please note this show has been moved from Fat Sams, to On Air East,
Dundee).
Sat 17th November:
The Electric Soft Parade + Kid Galahad + Singleskin,
advance tickets £5, doors 8.00p.m.
Brighton based popsters The Electric Soft Parade have picked up
favourable comparisons to Teenegae Fanclub, Buffalo Springfield,
The Boo Radleys
and The Charlatans and were recently tipped by the N.M.E. as one
of the new
rising guitar bands to add to your record collection. Set to release
their third single "There's A Silence" in early November,
the band have also finished recording their debut album " Holes
in the Wall". Special guests for this show are Kid Galahad
who are signed to Ignition Records, and having already received
a Single of the Week on Radio 1,
they are on a mission to capture your hearts with their Beck/ Jane's
Addiction / Beatles influenced hot pot of songs.

Napalm Death, (Fat Sams, 31 Southward Rd, Dundee, tel 01382 - 228181,

Napalm Death are the fathers of grindcore and they push metal to
new
extremes of ear - splitting intensity, rejecting all notion of melody
and good
taste to forge a brand of sonic assualt, almost frightening in its's
merciless brutality.
Arriving in Dundee to promote their new album, "Enemy of the
Music Business",
their lyrics deal with social and political injustices and those
going to the
gig can expect to witness a menacing nihilistic performance, so
try not to
stand too close to the stage !
Sat 24th November:
Oasis tribute show featuring Wonderwall (at The
Westport Bar, 22 East Henderson's Wynd, Dundee, tel 01382 - 200993),
advance tickets £6, doors 8.00p.m.
Wonderwall are from Greater Manchester and live and breathe Oasis
in
both the way they sound and look with every detail both musically
and visually
perfected. Aspiring to give the audience the authentic Oasis show,
Wonderwall will
be performing all the classic Oasis singles such as "Roll with
It",
"Whatever", Some Might Say", Don't Look Back in Anger","Cigarettes
and Alcohol" as
well as all the favourite album tracks. In short, a MUST see gig
for all Oasis fans.
Sun 25th November:
The Damned, Advance tickets £10, Doors 8.00p.m.
Legendary punksters The Damned will be celebrating the release
of their
first studio album for 14 years witha show at Dundee's On Air East
on Sunday
25th November and those going to the gig can expect to hear all
their classic
punk singles such as "Neat Neat Neat", "New Rose",
"Smash It Up", "I Just
Can't Be Happy", "Love Song" and much more besides.
Featuring founding members Captain Sensible and Dave Vanian the
line -
up also includes Patricia Morrison (ex Sisters of mercy and Gun
Club) and
drummer Pinch (ex Janus Stark and English Dogs). The Damned's new
studio album "Grave Disorder" has been released on the
Offspring's record label Nitro Records and was produced by David
Bianco (Buffalo Tom, Teenage Fanclub, Tom Petty producer) and has
been picking up rave reviews in all the music press, and with all
the new interest in
the band, what's the betting of The Damned returning again to stalk
the airwaves
and plunder the charts ? Stay young, stay wild, stay Damned. (please
note that this show is now taking place at On Air East, Dundee and
not Fat sams as previously advertised).
Thurs 6th December:
The Bush The Tree and Me, advance tickets £4, Doors 8.00p.m.
Utterly beguiling all female band The Bush The Tree and Me are
set to
play Dundee's On Air East on Thursady 6th December as part of their
British
tour to promote their debut album "Hoe to Get Home" (produced
by Stephen
Street and released on Sony Music). With their unusual instrumentation
and singer Paula Cox's distinctive voice, the girls create a vibrant
organic sound which has been compaired to Van Morrison, Joni Mitchelland
The Sundays. Jonathan Ross has already featured them on his Radio
2 show and with influencial fans such as Blur's Graham Coxon (who
will be playing and performing live with the band at London's Dingwall's
on 7th November)
their Dundee show should prove to be something quite special.
Fri 21st December:
Bon Jovi tribute featuring Non Jovi, Advance tickets
£6, Doors 8.00p.m.
Few tribute bands perform the era of pop - metal with as much conviction
as Bon Jovi tribute band Non Jovi, who are fronted by ITV's Stars
in their
Eyes finalist David Burrows. Skillfully performing a collection
of pop- metal and power ballads, Non Jovi's dynamic and energetic
performances replicate Bon Jovi's sound
with big guitars, big hooklines and big melodies and those going
to their xmas
show in Dundee can look forward to hearing all the hit singles including
"Livin'
On A Prayer" , "Always", "Wanted Dead or Alive",
"I'll Be there for You", "In
and Out of Love", "You Give Love a Bad name" and
"Blaze of Glory".
Wed 26th December:
The Stones Roses tribute show featuring Fool's Gold, Adavance tickets
£7, Doors 8.00p.m.
Stone Roses tribute band Fool's Gold, who are set to play a specal
xmas
show at Dundee's On Air East on Boxing night, 26th December,were
recently
involved in the filming of the forthcoming and much anticipated
feature film "24
Hour Party People" - the movie set in Manchester about Factory
Records, the
Hacienda and the "Madchester" scene, which stars Steve
Coogan as Factory Records supremo Tony Wilson. In one of the movie
scenes Fool's Gold were filmed in the Hacienda performing as The
Stone Roses, and although the initial plan prior to filming was
to overdub Fool's Gold with an original real Stone Roses recording,
the
producer and sound director were so impressed by Fool's Gold performance
and
accuracy in their sound that they decided to keep Fool's Gold recording
in
the film ! Now firmly established as one of the most justified tribute
bands on the
gig circuit, Fool's Gold have the style, attitude and vibe and are
the ultimate Stone Roses experience. Technically blinding and humorously
realistic, Fool's Gold are the
consummate tribute band with their masterful versions of "I
Wanna Be Adored", "I Am
the Resurrection", "Sally Cinnamon", "Made of
Stone" and "Standing There" -
close your eyes, think of Spike Island 1990 and your almost there
!
Sat 29th December:
AB/CD, advance tickets £6, Doors 8.00p.m.
English based tribute band AB / CD have received critical acclaim
from
the original Australian rockers and their uncanny ability to start
and end
every song as if they were the real thing has earned the band the
reputation
as being one of the finest tribute bands on the gig circuit. Along
with their blend of metallic boogie, high energy guitar riffs and
gritty blues based sounds, the band are a lasting tribute to Bon
Scott era D.C and among the songs in the band's set list they include
"The Jack",
"Whole Lotta Rosie", "Problem Child",and "Rock
'N Roll Damnation". To complete the glow of nostalgia, fans
should not be too surprised if they see an Angus Young lookalike
parading around in schoolboy uniform and satchel! Salute the demented,
no thrills majesty of AB / CD.
