Title:
Jeepers Creepers
Starring: Gina Philips, Justin Long, and Jonathan Beck
Director: Victor Salvoa
Cert: 15
Running Time: approx 91mins
Taking a lead for 'Duel ' and 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' the Halloween
movie of the year is out.
Two
teenagers (brother and sister for a change) are travelling home
for spring break and are terrorised by a sinister looking truck.
The truck passes and disappears much to the duo's delight only to
see it outside an abandoned church, and the driver dumping what
appears to be bodies down a pipe. The driver notices the kids and
gives chase. The driver ends up hunting the two down no matter what
is in his way
Better than most teen horror movies, but it is just not scary and
also has no suspense, by the end you are left with an empty feeling
about the film.
This film should have been rated 18, because the director could
have expanded many scenes to make the gory parts gorier. The cast,
especially Philips and Long act well and deliver a great performance,
the movie also has a great mysterious villain. However, this is
all this movie has going for it. It is not scary, despite a few
parts that make you jump. When the villain is revealed you don't
get much of a back story and frankly this needed to be 20 minutes
longer.
